A structured, personalized approach that turns Russian into a clear learning path — with real communication and visible progress from lesson to lesson.
From “Russian is overwhelming” to
“I know what I’m doing.”

Does this sound like you?

You’re starting from zero

The alphabet, pronunciation and unfamiliar grammar make Russian feel like a huge mountain. You don't know where to begin — or what progress should look like.

You’ve started, but you’re stuck
You've tried apps, videos or self-study. You know some words and grammar, but everything still feels disconnected. You need a clear path.

You want to connect
You're learning Russian because someone you care about speaks it — and you want to understand their world, communicate with their family, and feel more included.

You want to actually speak
You don't want Russian to remain an intellectual exercise. You want to use it in real conversations and understand native speakers beyond isolated words.
If this is where you are, here's how I help you move forward.

Russian may be complex.

Learning it doesn't have to be.

No matter the language family, every language has a structure. A relatively limited set of grammar patterns, vocabulary, and communicative situations makes up a surprisingly large part of everyday communication.

We often mistake the unfamiliar for the difficult. Once you understand how a language is structured and know what to learn next, what initially feels overwhelming becomes much more manageable.

That's where I come in.

As a language teacher, learning designer, and multilingual learner myself, I turn Russian into a clear, step-by-step path — so instead of facing an endless amount of language, you can see where you are, what's next, and how far you've already come.

This is how I turn that idea into a practical learning path:

Map → Learn → Practice → Review → Measure → Move forward

What changes when Russian starts to click

  • You know what you’re doing.
Instead of wondering “What should I learn next?”, you have a clear sense of where you are, what you’ve already mastered, and what comes next.
  • You feel your progress.
You can look back at what you could say a few weeks or months ago and actually hear the difference.
  • You can actually talk to the people who matter.
You can have simple, real conversations with your partner, their family, friends, or other Russian speakers — without constantly switching back to English.
  • Russian becomes part of your life.
You can use what you learn in real situations — messages, conversations, family gatherings, travel, media, and everyday interactions.

What happens in our lessons

Structure
From the very beginning, you’ll start building your own sentences, rather than simply memorising words. We’ll look at the patterns behind Russian grammar, practise them in context, and gradually turn them into something you can actually use.
Variety
I’ll bring in authentic audio, videos, texts and other real-life materials — some created specifically for our lessons, others selected from the world around us. This gives you the chance to see and hear how Russian is used, while keeping everything connected to your goals and level.
Practice
Repetition is not a step we skip — it’s how new language becomes familiar. We’ll regularly come back to what you’ve already learned, use it in new contexts, and build on it rather than constantly moving on to something new.
Progress check
At regular points, we’ll pause and look back at what you can do now — through practical tasks, conversations, and recorded examples of your work. These become little milestones you can return to and compare, so your progress is something you can actually see and hear.

Why me? I’ve been on both sides of learning

I’ve spent more than a decade in education — as a teacher, a learning designer, and, perhaps most importantly, as a language learner myself.

My academic background is in language education: I have a BA in Teaching Russian and English and an MA in Bilingual and Multilingual Education. Since then, I’ve worked across very different learning environments — from teaching children through immersion to EdTech, corporate learning and higher education.

Those experiences have shaped the way I teach.

Working with children taught me how much curiosity, play and engaging materials can change the learning experience. Working in EdTech and corporate learning taught me to think systematically: start with the goal, understand what the learner actually needs, build a clear path, and make progress visible.

And then there’s the learner side.

Russian is my native language, and I speak five other languages. I’ve learned many of them independently, so I know what it feels like to build a completely new language system from the inside.
One of my most recent examples was German. I had nearly three months to prepare for a B1 exam from 0, built a structured learning plan, followed it systematically — and passed.

So when I teach Russian, I bring both perspectives to the table: the teacher who knows how languages are learned, and the learner who knows what it feels like to learn one.

That’s why my lessons are structured, purposeful — and still meant to be genuinely enjoyable.

Learning should be a pleasure to come back to.

I believe that what you learn with matters, too. Well-designed, engaging materials can make the learning process feel more enjoyable — and more inviting to come back to.

That’s why I put a lot of thought into the materials I use — from the way they work to the way they look and feel.
Here’s a little glimpse of what learning with me can look like.
